METROCRAFT TECH INSTRUCTIONS

In order to get ready for our Metrocraft class, we ask that you download Minetest and install it on your computer. There are a few steps in this process. We have included a tutorial video below.

STEP 1:DOWNLOADING MINETEST

Note: This tutorial is for Macs

The first step is to install “Minetest.” Minetest is a free, public domain version of Minecraft. Minecraft and Minetest  are basically the same program, but Minetest allows us to make more modifications, it works on older computers and best of all, it’s free.  Please note we generally find it is helpful to have a mouse when playing. Many kids have successfully played using a trackpad but it's definitely easier to play games of this sort with a mouse.

Once you follow the steps in the video and get to the log-in screen, put in the following info. For the Address/Port, put in minetesthosting.com and the port number 41073

For the name, put your child's first name in all lower-case.

The password is the first name of the parent who signed the student up for the class (in all lower-case)

If you have any trouble with usernames or passwords, email matt@rightbraincurriculum.com and I can send it right over to you.

STEP 2: LET US  KNOW YOU'RE ALL SET

If you are able to log into Minetest and get into Google Sheets, please indicate "YES" on the first page of the Google Sheet so we know you are all set.
